The Warriors travelled to Pencoed for what turned out to be a breathtaking and dramatic encounter. Pencoed drew first blood early on, but Whitchurch responded immediately with Enzo Kawol crashing over to level things at 5–5. Elliott Simpson then put the Warriors ahead before Pencoed hit back with a converted try to lead 12–10 at the break.
The second half was an absolute rollercoaster. Enzo grabbed his second try to nudge Whitchurch back in front at 12–15, only for Pencoed to respond again and retake the lead at 19–15. Jacob then crossed the whitewash to edge the Warriors ahead 19–20, before Pencoed struck again to make it 24–20.
What followed was a stunning spell of rugby from Whitchurch. Rory Murphy, Josh Thomas and Ben Sarsam scored in quick succession — all converted by Luca Harrison — to put the Warriors 41–24 ahead with just 5 minutes remaining. A late Pencoed try couldn't deny the lads a magnificent away victory.
A proper team performance from start to finish. The resilience shown after trailing at half time was outstanding — the boys never stopped believing. Warriors! 🖤🤍
