A great trip up the A470 to the Rhondda, and a performance to match the occasion. Porth Harlequins last met the Warriors a few years back when the boys were still playing tag rugby — the step up since then was on full display as Whitchurch ran out 50–21 winners in one of the best team performances the coaches have seen all season.

Porth are a big, physical side and they made their presence felt from the off, using their forwards to carry hard and test the Whitchurch defence. But the Warriors held firm and quickly found the space out wide. Tolis Tanti got the scoring underway with a fine early try, followed quickly by Ben to make it 10–0. Porth hit back with a converted try to make it 10–7 and remind everyone on the touchline it was far from over.

What followed was a brilliant spell of Whitchurch rugby — though not without controversy. Three tries were disallowed during the first half, two of which everyone agreed were good scores. The Warriors kept their composure regardless: Jay crossed for the next try, converted by Luca, before Rory produced a stunning solo effort straight from the restart — collecting the kickoff and going the length himself — with Luca converting again to send Whitchurch into the break leading 24–7.

The second half was a controlled and clinical display. Ben grabbed two more tries in quick succession, both converted by Luca, as Whitchurch kept stretching a tiring Porth defence with sharp passing and intelligent running lines. Luca then added two tries of his own — converting the first — to bring up a superb 50–7 lead.

Credit to Porth, who despite being short on numbers through injury never stopped competing. They were rewarded with two late converted tries — including one from a player quickly christened "Hagrid" by the touchline — to close it to 50–21 at the final whistle.

No man of the match today. Instead, the coaches agreed it was a complete team effort where everyone put a shift in. Backs, forwards, the whole squad — they all got the credit. Warriors! 🖤🤍
